Experiential Exercises in Staying Connected to our Inner Self

1) RELEASING: When you are feeling unease, you are attached to wanting or needing something. Stop and breathe to find out what it is. Then let it go, liberate, it, choose to be free of the attachment to it.

2) SEPARATING: Imagine yourself standing back watching yourself have these experiences. See that you are separate from what is happening. Talk about this with others. Remind yourself that you are the observer of the experience as well as the experiencer (as well as the experience itself).

3) DEPERSONALIZING: Think of yourself walking in the eye of a storm. All is calm, while the world rages around you. Remind yourself that this storm is not about you. It is an opportunity to stay calm and be in the world the way you wish to be.
